axis

15Aug07

If you’ve been around downtown Vancouver, you probably recognize axis hair salon.

Before I discovered them (fairly easy as they’re located in the base of my building), I knew them only for their art deco design (salon on West Georgia and Thurlow resembles a European museum with its huge ceilings, open architecture and statues…yes statues), attractive staff and a monumental wall of axis and Aveda product. Things have changed.

Her name is Suzanne…she’s located at 1111 West Georgia and Thurlow and put simply, she’s the best stylist you can find - scissors down! I have been going to axis now for almost a year and I can honestly say that the way I’ve been treated (including pre haircut head massages!) , product recommendations (especially kl-eh!) and my satisfaction with the haircut I receive deserves mentioning on timinganddelivery.com!

Suzanne’s clients range from young to old (she’s particularly busy with the downtown business clientelle) and services from simple to complex (men’s cuts to uber colouring jobs). Her prices are reasonable and she even offers free touch ups on the hour - including mullets! mullet.jpg

If you’re after someone who knows what you want and will deliver it time and time again, go see Suzanne. After all, isn’t good service ALL about timing and delivery?

T&D Rating: 5 scissors (out of 5)

I found this blog through Google and I’m glad I did! I went to Suzanne last week with a friend and had an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was great and Suzanne was really nice. I was quite satisfied with my haircut and I plan to go back in the future (I still need to pick up some products!).

I just went to Suzanne a few days ago from finding this blog (also from Google!) I think she’s just the best - real geniune person, gives great advice - and I really love my new haircut! (If you’re reading Suzanne, thank you again!)

hey guys…does Axis have a web site? I can’t find it anywhere??

Hey Jocelyn! Axis doesn’t have a web site, actually. I believe it has something to do with the company’s advertising policy (can’t be sure).

Hi Suzanne, I’m in desperate need of a new stylist/colourist! I was hoping your offer “I will give anyone who comes to me from this site 50% off their first cut or a FREE cut with any colour service!”, still stands? If not, I was hoping you could give me some generalized price quotes. I absolutely love my current stylist, but she recently opened up her own salon and it would take me almost 2 hours to get there!! Let me know how early I should be booking an appointment :)

    Thanks

    Hi Andrea,

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately I am no longer offering that deal. I would however love to see you! I charge $45 for a haircut and my colour prices depend on the length and thickness of your hair. Colour goes from $75-$120 and highlights are about $100-$160. This is a very general quote. I always discuss costs before any service is started. I hope this helps!

    Hi,
I was wondering what type of permanent hair colour you use? My natural hair colour is asian black but have bleached it to variations of blonde.

    please let me know
    THANKS so much!

    Hi Rachael,

We use Wella colour at AXIS. Hope this helps!
