I’m not going to kid you, the downtown Vancouver lunch scene is just that…a scene.
There’s tonnes of options, tonnes of people, tonnes of crap, and some good stuff. I try my best to pick out the good stuff. And sometimes, with a little luck, good service comes stapled to it.
Now, I’m not going to take you back down the disco path, but what I wanted to say in this short post is EAT! And Mangez Mangez allows you to do that quick and painlessly very well, I might add.
I’m not big on the sit down lunch thing during the week. I mean, I will the odd time here and there, but normally, I’m in for about as much time as The New Kids on the Block were cool. Okok, to ‘most’ of us, that is (disclaimer).
Mangez Mangez comes stacked to the brim with enough soups, fruits, salads, sandwiches, paninis, subs, soft drinks, hard drinks, natural drinks, coffees, teas, juices, cakes, and bars for even the most picky eater. But that’s not what I’m on about.
Instead, I want to let you know how I was treated the other day whilst getting my New Kids on the Block inspired lunch:
-
I came in shortly after 1pm (late)
-
I usually go for a certain type of sandwich (ok…top sirloin)
-
There was none left…like NONE
-
The manager/lady/person in charge/authority figure came out from behind the counter after I made a slight remark like ‘Dang, there’s no more top sirloin’
-
She looked at me
-
I looked at her
-
A sandwich was made for me…NO problem
-
I got my soup (which are very good!)
-
I paid
-
I left
Simple? Yeah, maybe. But taking the extra time to care about your customers goes a long way. Given Mangez Mangez’s closer proximity to my office, disco may be in for a bit of a dance off.
