Tony Manero was a guy that knew how to make disco cool.
Disco (read: Fresh at Bentall Centre) is a place that knows how to make lunch even cooler.
Let’s connect the dots here, shall we? I mean, honestly, I don’t expect you to take some obscure 1977 movie reference and associate it with the Bentall Centre food court in downtown Vancouver. But if you did, nice work…
What’s funny is that I, along with many others I’m sure, have never called Fresh at Bentall Centre by its proper name. Instead, I’ve morphed it into ‘Disco’
given the fact that a massive disco ball occupies the ceiling of this funky little joint. I always found that a bit unique…and so, it stuck.
The menu is, yes, fresh, the prices are good and most importantly (as it really is the people that make this giant food-oriented disco ball spin), the staff at Fresh at Bentall Centre are always full of energy. This is a good thing, especially when Vancouver’s rainy days have you feeling like just another drone in a suit.
I have been a frequent customer of Fresh at Bentall Centre for the better part of five years now and I particularly enjoy the fact that I can have my ‘usual’ (chicken wrap) almost half prepared before I even manage to say a word. What I’m saying here is that they remember their regulars and time their service just perfectly because they know you are likely in a rush to get somewhere. I like that. I really like that.
So next time you’re doing the electric lunch shuffle in downtown Vancouver, trust me, as I’m a big lunch ‘fan’, Fresh at Bentall Centre is where it’s at.

I ate there for about 4 years… I must have just missed you. Stopped about a year ago, when I no longer was able to go, since I wasn’t working across the road at 1111 Melville.
Love their paninis there. I miss working downtown, for that, and Artigianos.
