I’m not going to mix words with you (and I never will) so I’ll get right to the heart of this thing…Goldendoodles are amazing dogs. I know…I have one…his name is Gallagher (in the photo).
I’ve already talked a lot about some of the places that have been great for Gallagher (and me), specifically dogcity.ca and fetch spaw for dogs here in Vancouver.
BUT, let’s take a step back for a second…in order for those reviews to be of any use to you, you need to first HAVE a dog (better yet, a Goldendoodle). That’s probably a good place to start, don’t you think? Ok, let’s start there…
In early 2006 I was on the warpath for a great Goldendoodle breeder and take it from me, there are a lot of them. Well, if you’ve ever shopped at IKEA (especially in the early years), quantity doesn’t always mean quality. I knew finding the RIGHT breeder was going to be difficult.
Let me connect the dots for you:
- It was a lot of work
- I put in a lot of work
- I found the best one
- I want you to know about it
By far and away the best breeder I met (and ended up selecting) is Christine Filipczyk. Christine breeds g-doodles exclusively on her very cool farm in Aldergorve, British Columbia (about an hour outside of Vancouver and close the the Canada/US border). Believe me, she’s definitely worth your time!
From June 2006 through today, I must have recommended Christine and her doodles to at least a dozen (if not more) people.
What you need to know: she breeds great looking and very healthy dogs AND takes care of you after the sale! Why you need to know that: that’s a tough one-two combo to find!
Here are some of the more memorable ways that I’ve been flagged down (literally, minus the flags)when I’ve been out n’ about with Gallagher:
-
“WHAT on earth kind of dog is that…I have to have one.”
-
“Is that a sheep? I love sheep.”
-
“Oh…my…gawd…THAT dog is SOOOO cute! Come here!”
-
“I want one of those!” (Woman had stopped her car in the middle of the street with the keys still in the ignition)
-
“Can I please have a photo (or ten)?” (Gallagher has been the subject ot countless photos by people who I have never met and likely will never know)
But don’t just take my word for it, you’ll have to speak with Christine and take a look at her web site for yourself!
If you’re interested, get in touch with me here for her details:
Her goldendoodle puppies are adorable, the testimonials are endlessly positive, her prices and the best around, her goldendoodles can be shipped ANYWHERE under the sun, and best of all, she provides amazing service in terms of after-sales support and kenneling!
Christine’s next litter is expected very soon and pups will be available in December/January for sale. I hope you find your doodle. I did. I’m done.

Funny dog comment I overheard once - a young girl says to the owner of a large dog “can you ride it?”.
Thanks for this! Does she deliver anywhere in North America?
no problem, steve. she’s delivered doodles all over the place…and rightfully so, she’s an amazing goldendoodle breeder. if you (or anyone) want more info on where ship ships to, just email me and i’ll put you in touch with her (or vice versa).
Designer dogs are the bane of the dog world. ‘Nuff said. Promoting these “money machines” is disgusting. With a breed that is a mix of two other breeds you get twice the possibility of health complications, plus the breeder cannot guarantee looks or what the dog will be like personality wise. Not to mention, no real responsible breeder would produce a Goldendoodle. You might, just might end up with a good dog, but a lot of owners find that later on down the road, their Goldendoodle has cancer, eye problems and all of the other things that the breeder didn’t screen for, because they just wanted to make money. Stay away from this sort of crap and adopt a mix from the pound! It’s cheaper and much more responsible.
I have a friend with a Goldendoodle and another with a Labradoodle (sp?) and they are both wonderful dogs with no problems to speak of.
Christina D’s comments about the health of mixed breed dogs Golden Doodles range from extremly misinformed to flat out wrong, especially the comment “twice the possiblity to develop health complications”.
Due to years of inbreeding, purebred dogs often carry some of the health complications that she describes. I would never buy a purebred for the reasons she describes; however, mixed breed dogs like Golden Doodles are substantially healthier than purebreds. If mixing drastically different breeds like Golden Retrievers and Poodles allows someone with allergies to own an extremely friendly and loving dog, it’s a great thing.
A Golden Doodle moved in with us three weeks ago. I can’t believe how much they like meeting people. At first, I was touched by the enthusastic greeting I got every time I walked in the door, then I realized that the mailman and anybody walking by our house gets the same treatment.
Christina–Ever heard of hybrid vigour? thought not. It means that mixed breed dogs Are much healthier that purebreds. Sure golden doodles are basically expensive mutts, and much as I would like to get a dog from a shelter, I know that golden doodles will not bring on an asthma attack and hives. Unfortunately, a good “pound puppy”
Might just do that. The designer dog remark has to come from someone who does”t suffer from serious allergies.
