hugo boss vancouver

I remember when my father took me to get my first suit from his tailor…it was like we were going to visit Merlin in some far off magical kingdom.  I recall not having any idea as to the strange rituals he was performing with his chalk, pins, and measuring tape.  I just trusted that what he was doing was  right.

After the smoke had cleared, and when the suit was ready to be picked up…it was perfect, absolutely perfect.  That was 15 years ago, and while the suit styles may have changed (yes, teal blue is no longer as cool as it used to be), the service that one can expect from a good tailor hasn’t.

Well guess what?  I found that pc.jpgsame level of perfection about four years ago…his name is Roberto (not Merlin) and he’s a professional tailor by training and just so happens to be the manager of the Hugo Boss store at the Pacific Centre Mall in Vancouver (which, conveniently, is displayed in the photo).  Enter…great suits and off-the-charts service!

Roberto’s personal touch on the whole men’s suit experience really is the reason why I don’t see anyone else when it comes to needing a suit.  Honestly, this guy knows what he’s doing…and you know what, he loves it (and it shows)!

But hey, I’ll leave it to you to check the suits and accessories there and determine if they are to your liking.  What I WILL tell you, though, is a story of the lengths that Roberto goes to for his customers…

Here’s the rundown from start to finish:

  • I was invited to an uber wedding at the Four Seasons Vancouver that was taking place on a Saturday
  • I needed a new suit (read: uber wedding…uber suit)
  • I went to see Roberto on the Wednesday at ~4pm
  • I found a suit…loved it…and tried it on
  • It needed alterations and wouldn’t be ready in time
  • Roberto saw to it that the WERE done on time and perfectly
  • I got my suit
  • The wedding happened
  • I had a great time
  • So did the happy couple (who are still married, by the way…nothing to do with the suit)

One of the big take-aways from this story is what Roberto did to make sure I was taken care of.  Regardless of the time crunch before my friends walked down the aisle, Roberto MADE SURE that everything was done and ready for me Saturday morning before the wedding at the store (including giving me his personal cell phone number in case anything was wrong)

For those not familiar with downtown Vancouver, the Pacific Centre Mall (read: where the Hugo Boss store is) is attached to the Four Seasons Vancouver.  The point?  All I had to do was show up, get changed, walk into the Four Seasons…done.

Record timing, personal service, and quality are some of the big things I took with me that day.  That’s why, about three years later, Roberto (and Boss) is my first and last stop when it comes to suits.  That’s a wrap.

I most certainly agree with you Darren. Roberto’s level of service is top notch and one of the reasons why Image Smith has used him in the past and will continue to do so.
