I’ve heard of paint by numbers, but pizza by numbers? Yup.
Enter: Incendio
Incendio is a casual italian restaurant (with a huge patio) that’s KNOWN for its pizza and is located right beside the infamous Fifth Avenue Theatre on Burrard Street (2118 Burrard to be exact, because you know, it’s good to be exact). They also have a gastown location…but let’s stick to our knitting here, shall we?
What makes Incendio really worth your while is (and you knew this was coming):
- a thin crust pizza list (24 little gems to choose from) that will both shock and awe (my staples: Kitsilano - #23 and Four Cheese w/artichoke- #19; both, are pizza-tastic);
- great service (Simone is awesome!);
- amazing foccacia before every meal;
- an inspired drink (not necessarily wine) menu (imported beers, in particular); and
- a ‘button’ they press to push your order through quickly if you’re planning to hit a movie next door (reminds me of the Staples ‘Easy’ button…slick).
If you want the Coles notes, it’s not high-end dining (see here) nor is it a ‘pizza joint’. BUT, if you were to throw the two into a blender (or food processor, depending on what you have in your kitchen), you’d get exactly what Incendio is serving up. Stir in a 24-carrat gold pizza menu and there you have it!
Trust me, Incedio’s pizza will haveyour tastebuds leaping up for excitement like frogs on a dynamite pond.
