For the next week or so, timinganddelivery.com will be bringing you reviews from Delray Beach, Florida and Isla Mujeres, Mexico. We begin, in West Palm Beach, Florida…

Extremely hot and suitably impressed. That’s how I would describe my reaction before I walked in and after I walked out of the restaurant identified by two MASSIVE horses outside of its front doors, P.F. Chang’s.
P.F. Chang’s China Bistro has established a strong reputation in the U.S. since opening its doors back in 1993; and rightfully so! As someone who visits a lot of restaurants, take it from me, just like the double barreled trojan horse-like greeters outside of each and every location, P.F. Chang’s customer service is impressive .
Here’s why I’m saying what I’m saying:
- We were 30 minutes off of the plane and needed a place to eat (had to drop in on A&F at the Galleria mall - anchored by P.F. Chang’s)
- I knew of P.F. Chang’s reputation by word-of-mouth marketing (one very powerful tool in my view)
- We decided to try it
- We ate
- We left
- We’re going to go back
Like a swiss army knife, P.F. Chang’s staff fit together perfectly. From hostess, to server, to bartender, to cook, everyone knew their roles and operated seamlessly.
And…just like the toothpick in the handle, little things (like I wrote on a few weeks ago) count. From eye contact the second we walked in, to our server providing helpful recommendations and checking in at the table at regular (but not intrusive intervals), this place was fantastic.
Why do you care? Well, if a restaurant is firing on all cylinders like this, your customers will enjoy a smooth and efficient service experience. This, is a good thing.
As always, I’m not going to go into incredible detail on the food, suffice to say it will leave you wanting more! What I did find out, though, which I think is cool, is that if you like a particular dish, the recipes are posted to their Web site and change periodically (highly influenced by Barbara Tropp - who was an expert in Asian cuisine and consultant with P.F. Chang’s in menu development).
P.F. Chang’s is worth your time…enjoy!
