It’s the long weekend and I thought I’d check in and drop some fun stuff for all y’all.
Below you’ll find (my first imix) a cross-section of what’s been keeping me busy lately. The mix takes you from the rousing and driving beats of BRMC and Kasabian through to lullaby like ballads from Andre Either [...]

Do you:
Like saving money and getting high quality product in return?
Enjoy being remembered by your first name?
Appreciate service that extends far beyond the initial purchase? (and I’m not just saying that because it sounds cool)
I may be off in claiming this, but most of us probably do. So, we decided that it was about time [...]
We at timinganddelivery.com would like to take this opportunity to welcome its newest partner, Crest Jewellers!
Crest Jewellers has been a Vancouver jewellery landmark for over 20 years situated at 329 Howe Street.
Having had experience with them myself, as well as passing countless references on to friends of mine who have since go on to select [...]
Its been a mighty long time since I’ve talked about anything having to do with music.
And that’s odd (music and service are big parts of my life).
With so much new material out there, I had to stop and say something…especially about one of the bands that I’ve followed for a very long while: The Soundtrack [...]
The team is off to Seattle this weekend in search of great deals (did someone say par?) and of course, great service.
From our last few encounters, Tavolata and Taste of India more than impressed with both the food and the service.
In the first case, the posh and slick exterior was just as posh and slick [...]
Last summer we introduced some of you to Jonker Street.
That was then…Jonker Street has CLOSED.
Apparently, under what appears to under the same management from what I can tell and a new ‘take-out inspired South East Asian’ theme, Jonker Street’s re-incarnation (read: uses the same phone number, etc) is Fresh Bowl.
It’s really to bad, actually, as [...]
I was forced to take piano lessons as a kid.
So that sucked.
Picking up on that concept, in terms of the ‘that sucked’ factor, the past year or so has thrown a couple of service experiences my way that I think are worth yammering on about:
Waiting 15 minutes to order a beer
Questioning why scrambled eggs take [...]

Very friendly staff…until you need to return something.
I wasn’t told about their “no returns” policy until after I tried [...]
Today was a good day.
I played some tennis.
I got to chill out at Hollyburn on the top patio in the sun.
I rode my bike along the seawall.
I had lunch with a buddy at Yaletown Brew Pub (sorry, Kath…service was ON this time).
And we just got back from seeing Julie & Julia…nicely done, Sony Pictures; kinda [...]
I’m not going to yammer on about the food at Dae Bak Bon Ga (aka Korean BBQ joint)…no sir.
We didn’t come for it; by the smells that were wafting out of the restaurant, though, maybe we should have.
So on to my story.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. And, it never seems to get tired…it [...]
It was like any other Thursday…
The only difference was that:
1) our fridge was empty
2) neither of us felt like cooking (which would have necessitated filling said fridge – see #1 above)
3) Maenam, one of the newer kids on the block (West 4th) was beckoning (in Thai)
A few months back I had came across some great [...]
timinganddelivery.com would like to take this opportunity to welcome its newest partner, Mis Trucos.
Mis Trucos is a modern Mediterranean tapas bar located at 1141 Davie Street (between Bute and Thurlow). You can’t really miss it, either as it’s set in a character house in the epi-centre of the Davie Street shopping area.
Chef Kris Barnholden (we [...]
All I wanted was some wine gums!
Alas…it wasn’t meant to be.
I’ll cut it to you quickly, for an upcoming event that I’m taking part in planning (smirk), I needed some candy:
1) in large quantities
2) from a very specific set of manufactuerers
3) STAT
After unsuccesful attemps at perusing Costco (tried both the Yaletown Costco and the ‘other [...]
What’s black, white and red all over?
Here’s a clue – you can’t buy one for 50 cents, fold it up and put it under your arm.
The answer – Wok Box Fresh Asian Kitchen.
Erin reviewed her Wok Box Calgary service experience with this snappy little asian food concept kitchen a little while back.
And, like any eager [...]
For some strange reason, I can’t stop thinking about olives.
Scratch that…I know damn well why – it’s because of my latest experience at Nook.
Before you go off thinking that Nook has got the olive market cornered and that’s what they should be known for – think again:
1) they don’t
2) they’ve got a lot more stuff [...]
