Having just recently relocated to the Commercial Drive area, I am both eager and curious to discover one of Vancouver’s longest strip of shops and restaurants.
Being among these is family-owned and operated, Best Falafel at 2013 Commercial Drive. One of many falafel joints on the Drive, this location happens to be within stumbling distance of my new home, making it the perfect fodder for a few particularly long days when I just couldn’t be hassled to throw together a meal at home.
Rounding the corner, I entered Best Falafel and took in the surroundings; small tables, coherent menu boards. There is also a television set, keeping the lone locals company while they munch down their meals.
With the small line of three customers, it took me a few moments to decide upon a falafel plate and only a few moments more for the efficient gentleman at the counter to throw together my take-away cuisine. A lovely woman, also at the front counter, handled the till and packaged the meals.
Within ten minutes, I had a very tasty falafel plate for less than six dollars and only a short walk home to devour the goods.
Unlike similar establishments about the city, Best Falafel is spacious and bright and offers all of the usual suspects, among them, falafel, delicious hummus, baklava and everything in between.
Should you find yourself desiring Lebanese cuisine, during the day or late at night, Best Falafel will conquer your craving quickly and efficiently.

what ‘other’ establishments are you referring to? there are a lot of good lebanese options in the city. at least, quite a few similar to this one.
Maybe I should have been more clear, but I was referring to a few places I have been to that are dark, small and inefficient ( example: Falafel Maison, while tasty, has been slow, along with Babylon Cafe, while also delicious, has always slow and inefficient. There is another along Denman, Falafel King, that was slow and not tasty at all.) Best Falafel stands out to me because everything was as it should have been: fast, friendly service and tasty food. As you know, Timing and Delivery focuses mainly on the service aspect of the experience.
