As you may or may not know, timinganddelivery.com welcomes your stories relating to service! And…from-time-to-time we publish some of them – like the one you are about to read. If you think you have a service experience worth sharing (good or not-so-good), send it in!
It’s gonna be a big year.
In fact, it’s gonna be big month.
So in anticipation of all the fun events ahead, a very good friend and I decided to check out the local restaurant scene and get caught up, like good friends do. Seeking an escape from the Dine Out Vancouver circus and a ‘different’ wine list, we headed to Boneta in Gastown. We liked it. Really liked it.
Boneta has planted its roots in the centre of chic and chaos. Literally.
But if you are from this beautiful city, you cannot be surprised with what you see when walking from your car to the front doors of the restaurant. (PS. They have $5 valet parking – worth it)
Bottom line, this is what Boneta offers:
- Beautifully designed, open, airy space
- Prompt and friendly service from the front staff
- Efficient online reservation system using opentable – like Yew – which resulted in us being shuffled quickly to our table (sans confusion of when we should have been there)
- Management that really puts an effort into getting to know their customers
Our server was great and was very helpful in recommending a wine as well as her favorite share plates.
If you’ve been, you’ll likely recall that Boneta’s menu (which is jam packed full of goodness) is projected on the wall, making ordering more food a snap without having to open another menu.
By the end of the evening the manager had filled our wine glasses once, checked on our food quality, made a joke, took note of our first names and thanked us personally for coming in. Wow.
That added bit of effort goes a long way!
Laura
