To be honest with you, I hadn’t been to Cafe Zen in Kits for quite some time, despite the fact that I probably could hit it with a few frisbee tosses.

In any event, this sunny morning found us [celebrating] at Cafe Zen on Yew Street.

I’ll shoot the gun first and then I’ll go back and load it – we were very happy! Here’s the loading part:

• the service was simple, non-chatty, and very, very fast – this is choice for the uber brunching city that we Vancouverites are

• the place was packed desipte the weekday sitting…but that took nothing away from the service

• the food knocks the stuffing out of some of the other brunch alternatives in the ‘hood – particularly thinking about a certain ‘Beggar’s Breakfast’ from another Kits landmark

• despite the madness that was undoubtedly going on in the kitchen, no one seemed frazzled or rushed – kind of like the peaceful duck sitting on top of the water kicking its feet madly underwater.
