A town in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy

I am sure that there is nothing more frustrating than service staff who have little to no knowledge of what they are serving you.

Thankfully, the lovely staff at the rustic Italian eatery, Campagnolo, located at 1020 Main Street, are unpretentiously in the know.

From proprietor Tim Pittman, who patiently informed me over the phone that Campagnolo only makes reservations for parties of eight or more and that the best time to come into the restaurant is absolutely not between the hours of 7:00pm and 8:00pm, to our pleasant hostess who showed us to our table, it was plainly obvious that every staff member on every level of management knew what was expected of them and how to deliver it.

Our most affable server, who was only at our table when we needed him and never more or less, answered all of our queries about the mostly Italian language menu, while maintaining a gentle professionalism at all times and even throwing humorous bits in for entertainment.

I can list a number of eating establishments in Vancouver that could benefit from a lesson in hospitality from the folks at Campagnolo.   Just sayin’!
