Following a rigorous morning of bumbling about the city in thirty degree heat in an attempt to find a new place to call home, my better half and I stumbled upon Juliets Cafe at 1905 Cornwall Avenue in Kits Point.
Like a beacon of light, Juliet’s beckoned us through its doors and into a lovely (air-conditioned!) space. Being eager, starving and sweaty, we placed our order with the quiet and attentive owner and gathered what energy we had left to find a table.
Juliet’s is a family owned and operated business, specializing in authentic, organic and home-cooked meals for breakfast and lunch. Frankly, every restaurant should be this dedicated to quality ingredients and delicious, home-made cuisine.
After guzzling at least a gallon of water from the self-serve counter, we were brought our meals by a quick and efficient server. We managed to get into Juliet’s just before the inevitable lunch rush, thereby avoiding such peak-time inefficiencies as Darren experienced awhile back.
I dined upon a delicious tomato and leek soup and a side salad with home made dressing with a piece of fresh baked whole wheat bread. My better half ordered a lamb club sandwich on fresh baked sourdough bread of which I stole a couple of tantalizing bites; sublime!
For under twenty dollars and in under thirty minutes, we found ourselves satiated and re-energized. While I won’t be living in Kits Point come this summer, I will be making the effort to travel from wherever I am to dine at Juliet’s Cafe and Catering.
