When the sun’s out in Vancouver, I like to run. I’m talkin’ Forrest Gump run (without the magic legs).
So, last Thursday, I was running…the double bridge route (read: Cambie/Burrard/Kits/Yaletown parade) – love it.
I was also left on my own to make dinner. So what better what to make it, I think, than to have someone else you trust do it for you: 1) affordably; and 2) really well.
There is no better way…enter Rossini’s in Kitsilano.
Confused? You shouldn’t be…I even put a map in this post (seems like I do that a lot – like here; and here).
Once you find Rossini’s on Yew Street, or if you are a Kitsilano regular, you’ll be used to seeing a packed patio in the mid-afternoon…on a Wednesday…on a mildy sunny day. Now that’s loyalty. Why are the patrons of Rossini’s in Kits so loyal? Probably because it’s as close to a ‘Cheers and Mr. Peterson’ kind of feeling you’ll get in this neighbourhood.
Well, OK…perhaps Rick at The Sunset Grill would give Rossini’s a run for it’s pasta – think Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar de la Hoya (in the first round) ish.
What was really cool about this past Thursday (taking nothing away from actually ‘eating in’ at Rossini’s: have done that many times…and love the live jazz), is that they timed my order with more accuracy that the Swiss Army (if I can say that).
The fettucini pescatoro is my signature dish and with barely enough time to stumble through their doors after 13kms and take my ear buds out to pay for my order, it was served straight from the pot, to the pan, mixed, and put in my take-out container.
Excellent timing, excellent delivery, with no frills and no hassle.
Love it.

When is the live music there? I can never time it so that I see them!!
Don’t forget the bread…killer.
