service-vs-over-serviceEver been over-served?

Ever wonder about what the deal with puff the magic dragon was?

Regardless, being over-served…sucks.

I say this because at my most recent business lunch (at one of the restaurants in Vancouver that we’ve reviewed before, who shall remain nameless…until someone asks) my table must have been approached, and I’m not kidding, six times.  Six times.

I’m not counting the number of times the server came back and forth to give us our appetizers and food.  No.  That’s par for the course.

I’m speaking of the number of visits we had by what probably must have been, the largest group of non-server types I’ve ever seen.  One or two, OK.  Six?  That’s whacked.

We met, and I gave my business card to one of them (hoping for a draw of some sort - who was I kidding), concierges, managers, people who looked like owners, and probably another concierge.

I don’t mind introductions and meeting those who put the grease on the restaurant wheel…totally fine with that.  But, there is a limit and if the machine is working, those in charge should be aware of how many times their guests have been ‘approached’.

I actually really like this restaurant and we’ve given it high marks in the past.  Just pull back on the ’shake hands/kiss baby’ reigns, guys.
