That make any sense to you? Well, after January 19, 2007, it made a helluva lot of sense to me…
If this chart has at one point or another given you grief, I think you MAY be able to relate (to the eye surgery bit…feel free to still hate going to the dentist).
Since I was a old enough to drive, I needed glasses to see things far away. But, like many of us (I’m sure), I didn’t like to wear them.
I eventually ‘evolved’ into a contact lens wearer (is that a word?) and when I finally got a real job (no DJ’ing at Scandals in Winnipeg or being a cook at Red Lobster weren’t ‘real’ jobs) the computer became a bigger part of my everyday life. We’re talking Oasis’ Wonderwall in 1994 big, but I digress…
I’ve lived in Vancouver (in the best neighbourhood around…Kitsilano) since 2000 and have always been ‘a consumer’. As I’ve said before, in Tipping Point terms, I’m somewhere between a Maven and a Salesman…so…I do my research before I buy.
Here’s how you connect the dots from here:
- I wore contact lenses (you’ve already got that part, I know)
- I started to hate wearing contact lenses
- I found an amazing eye doctor (Dr. Roger Gafur)
- I asked him about laser eye surgery places in Vancouver
- I got some information
- I went to meet with those he recommended
- I decided to go with his top pick, visionmed
- I got in done in January 2007
- I now have BETTER than 20/20 vision and have had NO side-effects
The reason why this post is written in two parts is that I enjoyed the experience 
and how I was treated at visionmed SO much (thanks Dr. Berman, Jessica, and Dr. Melenchuk) I’ve recommended them heavily.
In fact, my girlfriend is going in TOMORROW to get hers done too! I have a feeling that she will be equally impressed and won’t ever look back (and certainly not while squinting)!
